Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)

It is an endoscopic procedure performed by means of a device placed in the esophagus with a thin ultrasound probe at the end.
As the esophagus passes behind the heart, the heart and the vessels around it can be clearly visualized by TEE.
In cases where superficial echocardiography is inadequate, detection of difficult clots within the heart, suspected rupture of the aortic vein, and
It is used for the evaluation of heart valves before, during and after surgery.
The process takes about 30 minutes, including preparation time.
